How to Use Freed’s One-Click EHR Integration

Freed’s AI scribe was built to fit the way clinicians actually work. Instead of a traditional integration process that takes weeks and involves multiple vendors, Freed’s EHR push connects your notes to your EHR instantly.

With one click, your completed note transfers from Freed straight into your EHR. No switching tabs, no copying and pasting, no waiting for approval.

Just clean, accurate notes exactly where they belong.

How to use Freed’s one-click EHR integration

Step 1: Sign up for Freed

If you’re new to Freed, start by creating your account.

You’ll get instant access to your own secure workspace where you can capture visits, review notes, and customize templates.

💡 Tip: Every plan includes a 7-day free trial — no credit card required.

Once you’ve signed up and logged in, you’re ready to bring Freed into your EHR workflow.

Step 2: Download the Freed Chrome extension

Next, install the Freed Chrome extension.

It’s lightweight, quick to install, and works with any browser-based EHR — including Athena, Tebra, and PracticeFusion.

After installing, log into the extension with your Freed credentials. You’ll see a small Freed icon appear in your browser toolbar.

Step 3: Open your EHR and launch Freed

With the extension installed, open your EHR software as you normally would. Click the Freed icon in your browser — your Freed workspace will appear as an overlay on top of your EHR.

This means you can view, edit, and push your notes without ever leaving your charting window.

No switching tabs, no copy-paste. Everything you need is right where you work.

Step 4: Capture and review your note

During your visit, record the conversation as usual with Freed.

Once you end the recording, Freed automatically generates a complete, structured note that’s ready to review.

You can make quick edits, adjust tone or detail, and apply your preferred note format — all inside the Freed overlay.

Step 5: Click “Push to EHR”

When your note looks right, click Push to EHR in the Freed extension.
Freed’s AI-powered agent instantly transfers your note into your EHR, placing it in the correct fields.

You’ll see your note populate automatically — fully formatted, chart-ready, and stored securely.

No integrations, no IT tickets, no extra steps.

Step 6: Confirm and close

Once your note appears in your EHR, give it a final glance, sign off, and move on to your next patient.
Your note is already saved — and your documentation is done.

Why small practices love Freed’s EHR push

For small and midsized practices, integrations usually mean friction: IT requests, vendor contracts, and waiting weeks to go live.

 Freed eliminates all of that.

With EHR Push, your connection is:

  • Instant: Setup takes minutes, not weeks.
  • Flexible: Works with any browser-based EHR.
  • Affordable: Included in every Freed plan through 2025
  • Secure: HIPAA/HITECH compliant and SOC 2 Type 2 certified.

That means your small practice gets enterprise-level documentation flow, without enterprise-level effort.

Built for security and simplicity

Even though EHR push skips the traditional integration setup, it doesn’t skip security.
Freed’s data transfer is fully encrypted and compliant with the highest healthcare standards:

  • End-to-end encryption (TLS 1.2–1.3)
  • Azure-hosted data centers (U.S.-only)
  • Automatic deletion of patient recordings
  • Optional 30-day auto-deletion of notes

So you can chart confidently, knowing your data is protected at every step.

Why we built it this way

Traditional EHR API integrations were built for large hospital systems — long timelines, high costs, and rigid dependencies.

Freed’s customers are different. You’re clinicians running small or midsized practices who need tools that just work.

EHR push was designed to deliver that:

  • The speed and simplicity of copy-paste
  • The precision and compliance of full integration
  • The freedom to stay focused on care, not software
